Diesel cars will stop on this date! Petroleum Ministry report blows sleep of Auto Industry

Petroleum Ministry’s Report: Recently the Delhi Transport Department had canceled the registration of more than 54 lakh old vehicles including registered autorickshaw, cabs and two-wheelers till 27 March। Now the ready to ban diesel vehicles is being done from the center side.

Diesel Cars Ban: India should ban the use of diesel-powered four wheelers in cities with a population of more than 1 million by 2027। A committee of the Ministry of Petroleum has said this in its report। At the same time, the committee said that electric and gas powered vehicles should be promoted। The committee, led by former Petroleum Secretary Tarun Kapoor, has also suggested the removal of motorcycles, scooters and tricycle vehicles with internal combustion engines by 2035 in its report। The committee submitted its report to the government in February this year। According to the report, there should not be a single diesel urban transport bus in urban areas in about 10 years। The government has not yet accepted the report.

Recently there was registration of 54 lakh vehicles canceled

Delhi Transport Department has canceled registration of more than 54 lakh old vehicles including autorickshaw, cabs and two-wheelers till 27 March। Some unregistered vehicles include vehicles that were registered in the 1900s and early 1901s। In 2018, the Supreme Court banned diesel and petrol vehicles over 10 and 15 years old in Delhi। It states that vehicles violating the order will be confiscated। The National Green Tribunal ( NGT ) prohibited the parking of vehicles over 15 years old in public places in 2014। According to the data, registration of most vehicles from Southern Delhi Part 1 was canceled। A total of 9,285 three-wheelers and 25,167 cabs were stopped by 27 March.

Most action taken in these places

Registration of 2,90,127 from Mal Road Zone, 3,27,034 from IP Depot, 9,99,999 Part 1 from Southern Delhi, South Delhi Part 2 to 1,69,784, 7,06,921 from Janakpuri has been canceled। 35,408 from Loni, 4,96,086 from Sarai Kale Khan, 2,99,788 from Mayur Vihar, 1,65,048 from Vajirpur, 3,04,677 from Dwarka, 25,167 from Buradi, Registration of 1,95,626 vehicles from Raja Garden and 6,56,201 vehicles from Rohini has been canceled। The Department of Transportation has launched a campaign on 29 March to send overage vehicles directly for scraping। According to officials, they are picking up 100 vehicles a day। As part of the drive, the department’s enforcement teams conduct intensive operations in a chosen area.
