According to the information received, a fight broke out between the Meitei and Kuki communities over a place in a local market located in the New Chacon area of Imphal, which soon turned into a conflict between the two communities. After this, incidents of arson have come to the fore in many places. However, at present there is no news of any casualty in this violence.

More than 70 people have lost their lives in clashes between the Meitei and Kuki communities since the violence began.
